British‑made wall panelling, built for real homes — not showrooms.
We design and manufacture decorative MDF wall panelling at our own workshop in Cambridgeshire, then ship it directly to homeowners and tradespeople across the United Kingdom — so a proper feature wall doesn't have to mean joiner prices or imported flat-pack panels.

Our story
Lunaire Works started with a simple frustration: proper wall panelling was either a job for a specialist joiner, at joiner prices, or a thin, pre‑finished strip imported from overseas that looked the part in a product photo and nothing like it once it was actually on a wall.
We wanted a middle ground — panels with real depth, a smooth paintable finish, and pricing that doesn't punish people for wanting nicer walls. Every panel kit we sell is designed, cut and packed at our own workshop in Cambridgeshire, then shipped directly to homes across the UK. We don't import finished panels and relabel them — we manufacture in‑house, which is also why we can offer made‑to‑measure sizing on most of our range without the long lead times or minimum order quantities you'd expect from a bespoke joinery service.

Manufacturing and material standards behind every panel we sell.
In‑house manufacturing
Every panel is cut and finished at our own workshop in Cambridgeshire, which is also why we can offer custom heights, widths and pack quantities that off‑the‑shelf imported panelling can't. Standard panels are made from premium paintable MDF in 6mm or 9mm thickness, sanded smooth and ready to prime — other thicknesses are available by request.
For kitchens, bathrooms and other higher‑moisture rooms, we also offer a moisture‑resistant (MR) MDF option. To be clear: this is moisture resistant, not waterproof, and shouldn't be installed where it will have direct contact with water, such as inside a shower enclosure.
Sourcing & material safety
The MDF and HDF we build with is sourced from suppliers certified to the FSC chain‑of‑custody standard, supporting responsible forest management rather than unverified sourcing.
Our board suppliers also hold CARB and EPA TSCA Title VI certification — among the strictest internationally recognised low‑formaldehyde‑emission standards for engineered wood. In plain terms: the boards are independently tested for low chemical emissions and are suitable for everyday indoor use in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and most domestic interiors.
Quality, safety & installation
Every panel is quality‑checked before it leaves our workshop, so what arrives matches what you ordered. Installation is designed to be a safe, straightforward DIY job — full step‑by‑step guidance is included with every order and on each product page.
- Install onto a clean, dry wall using adhesive, nails or screws.
- Cut with a hand saw, mitre saw or circular saw — wear gloves and a dust mask when cutting or sanding MDF.
- Standard panels are not waterproof — choose our MR MDF range for kitchens and bathrooms, and always avoid direct water contact.
- Need help mid‑project? Contact us and we'll talk you through it.
Who we work with
Most of our customers are homeowners taking on a weekend project, but a growing number are tradespeople, interior designers, landlords and small businesses ordering for multiple rooms or properties.
Because we manufacture everything ourselves, there's no minimum order — buy a single pack or a bulk order, and trade and bulk‑order discounts are available on request. If you need a size, thickness or layout that isn't listed, email us at info@lunaireworks.com with your measurements and we'll quote it directly.
Ordering, delivery & returns
The practical details, in plain English. Full terms are always available in our shipping and refund policies, linked below.
Delivery
We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only — we don't yet ship to the EU or internationally, though it's something we're working on. Orders placed before 02:00 PM Monday to Friday are normally manufactured and dispatched the same working day; orders placed after 02:00 PM, or over the weekend, dispatch the next working day. Custom sizes typically take 1–2 working days.
We ship using Evri, Parcelforce or DHL — the courier is chosen automatically based on order size and postcode — and UK delivery is free with no minimum spend. A tracking link is emailed to you as soon as your order leaves our workshop. Some couriers deliver on Saturdays, but this isn't guaranteed; contact us if you need a specific arrangement.
Returns & guarantee
We offer a 30‑day money‑back guarantee on all standard products. Let us know within 30 days of delivery if you'd like to return or exchange an item; once we've confirmed your return, you'll have a further 14 days to send it back to us. Refunds are processed within 10 days of us receiving the returned item.
Because they're made to order, custom or bespoke‑sized panels can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty. If anything arrives damaged, send us a photo of the damage along with your shipping label and we'll arrange a replacement or another solution straight away.
Secure payments & checkout
Checkout is processed through Shopify Payments, with every transaction encrypted via Shopify's PCI‑DSS‑compliant payment system — we never see or store your full card details.
All prices on our website are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable; delivery cost is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
Sustainability
Wall panelling is meant to last — a properly installed panel wall can outlive several rounds of redecorating, which is part of why we think it's a more durable choice than wallpaper or paint alone.
The MDF and HDF we use comes from suppliers certified under the FSC chain‑of‑custody scheme, and we choose suppliers who can demonstrate responsible sourcing rather than simply the cheapest available board. We also cut panels to the sizes our customers actually need, rather than mass‑producing standard sizes, which helps keep offcut waste down at our workshop.
