Website Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

This page sets out the terms under which Lunaire Works makes this website and its content available to you, and explains what we are and are not responsible for. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy, which together form the full legal framework governing your use of this website and any purchases you make from us.

Scope & Who This Applies To

What this disclaimer covers and the two types of customer it addresses differently.

Consumers

A consumer is any individual purchasing goods from us for personal, domestic, or household use — for example, a homeowner buying wall panelling for a bedroom, living room, hallway, or staircase project. If you are a consumer, you benefit from all statutory rights afforded to you under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and all other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. Nothing in this disclaimer removes or reduces those rights.

Business Customers

A business customer is any person, partnership, company, or sole trader purchasing our products wholly or mainly in the course of a trade, business, or profession — for example, a builder, interior designer, landlord, or contractor purchasing panelling for a client project. Business customers retain statutory rights but are subject to broader exclusions and limitations of liability than consumers, as permitted under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where terms differ between consumer and business customers, this page makes that clear.

How to read this page: Sections that apply differently to consumers and business customers are clearly labelled. Where no distinction is made, the provision applies equally to both. If you are unsure which category applies to you, contact us at info@lunaireworks.com or call +44 33 0043 9923 before purchasing.

Accuracy of Content

We take reasonable care to ensure that all content on this website — including product descriptions, technical specifications, dimensions, pricing, and installation guidance — is accurate and current at the time of publication. However, we do not warrant that every item of content is entirely free from errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. If you notice an error or inconsistency, please contact us at info@lunaireworks.com and we will investigate promptly.

Pricing & Availability

All prices displayed on this website are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of UK VAT at the prevailing rate, unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout. We reserve the right to amend prices at any time without prior notice. In the event of a pricing error, we will notify you before processing your order and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or receive a full refund. Product availability is subject to stock levels; we do not guarantee continuous availability of any specific product.

Website Availability

We aim to keep this website available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Scheduled maintenance, hosting outages, technical faults, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including Shopify platform outages) may result in temporary unavailability. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by inability to access this website at any particular time.

Changes to this website: We may update, modify, or remove content on this website at any time without prior notice. The information on this website is intended for residents of the United Kingdom only. We do not represent that products described on this website are appropriate for use or available in locations outside the United Kingdom.

Product Descriptions & Warranty Disclaimer

What our product listings describe, the limits of those descriptions, and the warranty position under UK law.

Important notice about our products

All Lunaire Works products — including MDF wall panelling, tongue and groove kits, Shaker wall panel kits, Cheshire moulding dado kits, MR MDF moisture-resistant boards, pine dado rails, and associated accessories — are decorative interior wall covering products for domestic and light commercial use. They are not structural or load-bearing materials and must not be used as such.

Dimensions & Specifications

Product dimensions stated on our website — including panel height, width, thickness, pack count, and coverage area — are measured at manufacture and are accurate to within industry-standard tolerances for MDF and pine timber products. Minor variations of up to 2mm may occur due to the natural characteristics of the materials, the manufacturing process, or humidity-related expansion or contraction during storage and transit. These minor variations are not defects and do not constitute a breach of contract. If dimensional accuracy to tighter tolerances is critical to your project, please contact us before ordering at info@lunaireworks.com or +44 33 0043 9923 so we can advise.

Colours, Finishes & Photographs

All Lunaire Works wall panels and mouldings are supplied unfinished and ready to paint. Product photographs on this website show panels installed and painted, and are provided for illustrative purposes only. The colour of paint applied in photographs is not a colour we supply; it is chosen by the customer. Actual paint colours will vary depending on the paint brand, formula, and number of coats applied. Screen calibration, monitor settings, ambient lighting, and photography conditions may also affect the way colours and textures appear in images. We do not warrant that any colour or finish shown in a website photograph will exactly replicate the appearance of the installed, painted product in your home.

Moisture Resistance & Suitability

Our standard MDF wall panels are suitable for use in dry, indoor domestic environments — including living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and staircases — but are not suitable for rooms with high or continuous moisture levels, such as bathrooms, shower rooms, or utility rooms adjacent to washing machines. Our moisture-resistant (MR MDF) range, identifiable by its green-tinted board, is designed for use in kitchens and bathrooms where ambient humidity is elevated. However, even MR MDF is moisture-resistant, not waterproof: it must not be installed in direct contact with water, inside shower enclosures, behind sinks or baths without appropriate waterproofing, or in any application where the panel surface will be regularly or continuously wet. We accept no liability for damage to our products, your property, or any third-party property arising from installation in unsuitable environments.

Warranty Position Under UK Law

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all goods we sell to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for the purpose for which they were supplied, and as described. These are statutory rights and cannot be excluded or limited by us. Beyond these statutory rights, we do not offer any additional manufacturer's warranty unless one is explicitly stated in writing in the product listing or in your order confirmation. In particular: we make no warranty, express or implied, as to the fitness of our products for any purpose other than decorative interior wall panelling in suitable domestic environments; the durability of any paint or treatment applied to our panels by you or a third party; or the compatibility of our panels with any specific adhesive, primer, or finishing product that we have not expressly endorsed in writing.

Custom & bespoke orders: Where you have ordered panels cut to a custom height, width, thickness, or pack configuration specified by you, those goods are manufactured specifically for your order and are non-returnable unless they arrive in a condition that is damaged, faulty, or materially different from what you ordered. This does not affect your rights if the product is not as described or is of unsatisfactory quality. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Limitation of Liability

What we are not liable for, what we are liable for, and how any liability is capped — in plain English and in compliance with UK law.

What We Are Always Liable For (Exclusions That Are Not Permitted)

Nothing in this disclaimer, our Terms of Service, or any other document we publish will limit or exclude our liability for any of the following, because UK law does not permit us to do so:

  • 1 Death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents, or subcontractors.
  • 2 Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation on our part.
  • 3 Breach of your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — for example, our liability if goods are not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described.
  • 4 Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable UK law.

Liability Cap — Consumers

Where we are liable to you as a consumer in connection with any product you have purchased from us, our total liability for any single claim or series of connected claims is limited to the total price paid by you for the specific product or products that are the subject of the claim, as shown on your order confirmation. This limit applies to all types of liability — whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — except where UK law does not permit such limitation.

Liability Cap — Business Customers

Where you are purchasing in the course of a business, trade, or profession, our total aggregate liability to you (whether in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) arising under or in connection with your order is limited to the total price paid by you for the specific products giving rise to the claim. We have no liability to any business customer beyond this sum. This limit applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of greater loss, and even if we are aware of or should have been aware of the circumstances that could give rise to a greater loss.

Losses We Are Not Responsible For

Subject to the non-excludable liabilities above, and to the extent permitted by UK law, we exclude all liability for the following types of loss, whether arising as a direct or indirect consequence of the purchase, delivery, or use of our products or this website:

  • Consequential or indirect loss — any loss that is not a direct and foreseeable result of our breach, including losses that arise from knock-on consequences or from circumstances that were not reasonably within our contemplation at the time your order was placed.
  • Business losses — loss of income, revenue, profit, anticipated savings, data, business opportunity, goodwill, or business interruption, whether suffered by a business customer or (to the extent permitted by UK law) by a consumer making a claim on a commercial basis. Consumer statutory rights in relation to goods purchased for personal use are unaffected.
  • Loss or damage caused by incorrect installation — damage to walls, fixtures, fittings, flooring, furniture, or any other property caused by panels being installed incorrectly, with unsuitable adhesive, onto unsuitable surfaces, or in environments for which the product is not suitable (for example, using standard MDF panels in a wet room). Installation guidance is provided with every order and on each product page; it is your responsibility to follow it.
  • Loss arising from modification of our products — any loss, damage, or defect arising where our products have been altered, cut beyond the specifications provided, painted with an incompatible product, or otherwise modified in a way not described in our installation guidance.
  • Loss caused by third-party services — loss arising from acts or omissions of our courier partners (Evri, Parcelforce, DHL or others), third-party payment processors (Shopify Payments), or any other third party involved in fulfilling your order. Where loss is caused by a courier or payment provider, we will assist you in making a claim against that third party where possible, but their liability is governed by their own terms.
  • Loss arising from website unavailability or errors — loss of any kind caused by temporary unavailability of lunaireworks.com, inaccuracies in website content subsequently corrected, or the technical failure of any feature of this website.
  • Delay outside our control — any loss arising from a delay to dispatch or delivery caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather events, industrial action, road accidents, courier capacity issues, or national emergencies. In such circumstances we will take reasonable steps to minimise the delay and will keep you informed.
Plain-English summary: If something goes wrong with your order through our fault, we will put it right. If we owe you compensation, that compensation is limited to what you paid us for the specific product(s) involved. We are not responsible for consequential losses, business losses, or losses caused by incorrect use, misinstallation, or third parties. Nothing here removes your statutory rights as a UK consumer.

Installation & Safety Disclaimer

Safety information you must read before cutting, handling, and installing any Lunaire Works product.

MDF Dust Safety Warning

Cutting, sanding, routing, or drilling Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) or High Density Fibreboard (HDF) generates fine wood dust particles, which can be a respiratory irritant and, with prolonged or repeated exposure, a health hazard. Always work in a well-ventilated area, and always wear a correctly fitted dust mask or respirator rated to at least FFP2/P2 standard, safety goggles, and work gloves when cutting or sanding any Lunaire Works panel. This guidance is provided in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive's wood dust exposure guidance for DIY workers.

Installation responsibility

  • All Lunaire Works products are intended for DIY installation by competent adults following the installation guidance supplied with your order and published on each product page. It is your responsibility to follow that guidance.
  • Before fixing any panel to a wall, you must ensure the wall is structurally sound, clean, dry, and free from loose material. Installing panels onto damp, uneven, or structurally compromised walls may result in panel failure or damage to your property; we accept no liability for such outcomes.
  • You are responsible for checking the location of any concealed electric cables, gas pipes, water pipes, or other services within walls before drilling, nailing, or screwing through any surface. Lunaire Works accepts no liability for damage to concealed services.
  • If you are in rented accommodation, it is your responsibility to check with your landlord or managing agent before making any permanent alterations to walls using adhesive or fixings. We accept no liability for any landlord disputes, deposit deductions, or reinstatement costs arising from installation of our products.
  • Our panels are decorative, not structural. They must not be used as load-bearing, weight-supporting, or structural elements in any construction or building project.

Safe cutting & handling

  • Panels may be cut using a hand saw, mitre saw, jigsaw, or circular saw with a fine-toothed blade. Always cut away from the body and keep fingers clear of the blade. Support the panel securely before cutting.
  • Wear an FFP2/P2-rated dust mask or respirator, safety goggles, and work gloves when cutting, sanding, or routing MDF. Do not sweep up MDF dust dry; use a vacuum with a fine dust filter or dampen the area first.
  • Store panels flat in a dry indoor location before installation. Do not store upright for extended periods or allow panels to become damp in transit or storage — if panels arrive and are clearly damp, contact us immediately at info@lunaireworks.com.
  • If you have any doubts about your ability to safely cut or install the panels yourself, we recommend engaging a qualified carpenter or joiner. We are happy to advise at +44 33 0043 9923 or info@lunaireworks.com.
Adhesives & finishing products: Where we recommend specific adhesives, primers, paints, or other finishing products, this constitutes guidance based on our experience — it is not a warranty of compatibility or performance. We are not liable for the performance of any third-party product. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for any adhesive, primer, or paint product you use.

Third-Party Links, Platforms & Services

How we use third-party platforms and our liability for external services.

Courier & Delivery Partners

We dispatch orders using Evri, Parcelforce, DHL, and similar UK courier services. Once your order leaves our workshop, the courier is responsible for delivery. We provide a tracking link as soon as your order is dispatched. Any tracking links redirect to the relevant courier's own website or tracking platform, which operates under its own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the accuracy of courier tracking information, delivery delays caused by the courier, or packages lost by the courier after collection — though we will work with you to resolve any such issue.

Payment Processing

Checkout and payment on this website is processed through Shopify Payments, which is provided by Shopify Inc. and its payment partners. All card transactions are encrypted and processed in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). We never see, store, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or bank account details. Any disputes regarding payment processing should be raised with us in the first instance; we will liaise with the payment provider on your behalf where necessary.

Visiting a linked third-party website is at your own risk, and we recommend that you read the privacy and terms notices of any external site you visit.

Your Statutory Consumer Rights

Your legal rights as a UK consumer cannot be taken away by any disclaimer. Here is a plain-English summary of what the law gives you when you shop with us.

  • 1 Consumer Rights Act 2015 — goods. All goods we sell to consumers must be of satisfactory quality (free from significant defects, safe, and durable for a reasonable period), fit for the particular purpose we describe them for (e.g., interior decorative wall panelling), and as described on our website and in your order confirmation. If goods do not meet these standards, you have the right to a repair or replacement, or — if those remedies are not possible or are not provided within a reasonable time — to a price reduction or a refund.
  • 2 Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. When you buy online from us, you have a statutory right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods (the cooling-off period), without giving any reason. We voluntarily extend this to 30 days. This right does not apply to bespoke or custom-sized orders made to your specification. To exercise this right, please contact us at info@lunaireworks.com or +44 33 0043 9923.
  • 3 Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002. As an online retailer, we are required to provide you with our full legal name and registered address, company registration number, VAT number, and clear pre-order information about the product and price before you commit to a purchase. You will find all this information on this page and at checkout.
  • 4 Misrepresentation Act 1967. If you enter into a contract with us based on a misrepresentation (a false statement of fact that induced you to buy), you may have remedies under this Act, including rescission of the contract and/or damages. We take care to ensure all product descriptions are accurate, but if you believe any information has been materially misleading, please contact us promptly so we can investigate and rectify the position.
  • 5 UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018. You have rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you, including the right to access it, correct it, request its deletion, and object to its processing. Our Privacy Policy explains in full how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. To exercise your data protection rights, contact us at info@lunaireworks.com.
  • 6 Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008. As a registered company, we are required to display our registered company name, company registration number, and registered address on this website. These details appear at the bottom of this page and on our About Us page.
Where to go if your rights are not met: If you raise a complaint with us and we are unable to resolve it to your satisfaction, you may be able to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (available for UK consumers in relation to contracts with UK traders as a voluntary reference point) or seek guidance from the Citizens Advice Bureau. Ultimately, disputes arising under English law may be referred to the courts of England and Wales.
