Price Display & Currency Policy

Every price on this site is in pounds sterling, includes VAT, and won't change between your screen and your basket.

This page explains, in plain English, how we show and charge prices across lunaireworks.com — from the moment you open a product page to the confirmation email that lands in your inbox — and what UK law requires us to get right along the way.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to every price you'll come across when buying from Lunaire Works. It sits alongside, rather than replaces, our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy, which are linked at the bottom of this page.

  • Every product and collection page on lunaireworks.com.
  • Your shopping basket and our checkout, right up to the point you enter payment details.
  • Custom, bespoke and trade quotes we send you directly by email.
  • Order confirmation emails and invoices issued after you buy.

Our currency: pounds sterling, always

Lunaire Works manufactures and ships exclusively within the United Kingdom, so every price on this site — and at checkout — is shown in pounds sterling (£ GBP). We don't offer a currency switcher, and we don't show estimated prices in dollars, euros or any other currency anywhere on the site.

The price you see does not change based on where you're browsing from, what device you're using, or what currency your browser is set to. Visit a product page twice from two different locations and you'll see exactly the same figure both times — that's a deliberate choice, not an oversight, and it's what keeps the price in our product data, on the page, and at checkout always identical.

One currency, no exceptions

We don't currently ship outside the UK, so we haven't needed to add a second currency — and we won't quietly add one later. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first, not after the fact.

Worth knowing: if your card or account is held outside the UK, your bank or card provider may apply its own currency conversion and may charge a conversion fee when you pay. That happens on your bank's side of the transaction — we charge you in GBP and never see or set any conversion rate.

VAT-inclusive pricing: what you see is what you pay

STERZEAL HATS LIMITED, the company behind Lunaire Works, is registered for VAT in the UK under VAT number GB433989551.

Every price displayed on our product pages — including every size, thickness and add-on such as a dado rail option — already includes VAT at the applicable UK rate, currently 20% on our wall panelling, MDF boards, mouldings and accessories. You'll see this confirmed directly underneath the price on every product page, where it's marked "Tax included."

This isn't something you need to add at checkout, and it's never broken out as a separate line. The figure on the page is the final, VAT-inclusive figure you'll pay, for every product, every variant, and every custom quote we send by email.

If the standard VAT rate changes: HMRC sets the rate, not us. If it changes, we'll update our prices to reflect the new rate and update this section to match — we won't leave outdated information published here.

How prices are shown across the site

Whether you're browsing a collection, comparing dado rail lengths, or reading a quote we've emailed you, here's exactly how the figures you see are put together.

Standard & variant pricing

Each product shows its standard price clearly on its product card and on the product page itself. Where a product has options — for example, choosing a dado rail length alongside a wall panel kit — selecting a different option updates the on-screen price immediately, before anything is added to your basket. You'll never need to add an item to your basket to find out what it costs, and we don't run a loyalty or membership scheme that shows a different price to different customers — everyone sees and pays the same listed price.

How "sale price" is shown

Our shop platform displays a "Regular price" and a "Sale price" field on every product, even when no discount is running — in that case the two figures are simply identical, and it doesn't mean anything is on sale. When we do run a genuine, time-limited promotion, the discounted price is shown clearly alongside the original price so you can see exactly what you're saving, and that original figure is a real previous selling price, never an inflated one invented to make the saving look bigger. We don't use countdown timers or "X people are viewing this" messaging to create false urgency.

We also occasionally run a discount code — for example, 10% off when you join our newsletter. Codes like this are open to anyone who wants to use them; once entered, the reduced total is shown in your basket and confirmed again at checkout, and it doesn't change after that point.

Delivery costs: shown before you pay, never added afterwards

Delivery within the UK is free on every order, with no minimum spend — that's the cost shown in your basket, and it's the same £0.00 you'll see again at the final step of checkout, before you enter any payment details. We don't add a delivery charge once you reach payment that wasn't already visible earlier in the process.

If we ever introduce a delivery charge for a specific product — for example, an unusually large bespoke order — the cost and the reason for it will be shown on that product's page and in your basket, not revealed for the first time at checkout.

Custom and bespoke orders: any delivery cost for a non-standard order is confirmed in writing, in pounds sterling, in the same email as your quote — before you're ever asked to pay anything.

No hidden fees, ever

Five plain commitments, so there's nothing left to wonder about at checkout.

  • No card surcharge. We never charge extra for paying by debit card, credit card, or a digital wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • No account or membership fee. You can check out as a guest, and there's no charge to create an account or to see our prices.
  • No checkout "service" or "handling" fee. Nothing is tacked on at the final step that wasn't already shown in your basket.
  • No customs or import charges. Every order is manufactured and dispatched from our workshop in Cambridgeshire to UK addresses only, so there's nothing to clear through customs.
  • No charge for the basics. Installation guidance, our size guide and sample requests are included at no extra cost — they're not sold back to you as paid add-ons.

Bespoke, trade & bulk pricing

Because every panel is cut and finished in-house, we can offer custom heights, widths, thicknesses and pack quantities that simply can't carry a fixed, listed price.

There's no single "custom panel" price, because no two custom orders are the same. If you email your measurements or quantities to info@lunaireworks.com, we'll send back a written quote in pounds sterling that includes VAT and any delivery cost. We don't take payment, and we don't consider an order placed, until you've confirmed in writing that you're happy with that quote.

Payments & checkout currency

Checkout is processed through Shopify Payments, with every transaction encrypted under Shopify's PCI-DSS-compliant payment system — we never see or store your full card details.

The total shown in your basket carries straight through to checkout in the same currency, GBP, with no change to the final figure once you reach payment. We accept the following cards and digital wallets:

Keeping our prices accurate

We check our pricing regularly so that every product page, collection page and quote reflects what we'd actually charge you. Mistakes can still happen — a misplaced decimal, a price that didn't update after a change to a variant — and if one ever shows up, here's exactly what happens.

If we spot a pricing error, or you point one out to us, before your order has been dispatched, we'll contact you by email to let you know. You can then choose to go ahead at the correct price, cancel for a full refund, or — where the difference is small — we may simply honour the price shown if that's the fairer outcome.

Our commitment: we will never charge your card a different amount to the one you agreed to without asking you first.

Your rights under UK law

As a UK-registered retailer, the way we display and charge prices is shaped by the following laws. We've summarised each one in plain English; the links go to the full, official text if you'd like to read further.

Price Marking Order 2004

Requires us to show the final selling price of every product — including VAT — clearly, in pounds sterling, before you ever have to ask for it.

Read the Order

Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024

Bans "drip pricing" — adding mandatory charges that only appear after you've already seen a starting price. Any unavoidable cost has to sit inside the first price you see; the Competition and Markets Authority can fine traders who don't comply.

Read the Act

Consumer Rights Act 2015

Gives you the right to goods that are as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality — a price is only meaningful if it's attached to an accurate description of what you're actually buying.

Read the Act

Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

Requires us to give you the total price, including delivery, before you place an order, and gives you a statutory 14-day cooling-off period — ours runs for 30, as explained in our Refund Policy.
